The mess isn’t that you’re broken

The mess is the medicine

We live in a world that asks us to perform flawlessness, to look like we’ve “got this” or to tuck our emotions neatly away.

But if I’ve learned anything in the last decade and a half it’s that we are only as sick as our secrets, and that having others pedestal us is only a temporary relief from the next existential crisis.

The truth is:

🌀Transitions happen in darkness
🌀Metamorphosis requires becoming DNA soup first
🌀Before the Star card there’s the Devil and the collapsing totally-on-fire Tower
🌀 It’s just how the spiral of healing goes

Four weeks through the fire and the fog to rediscover your North Star ️️

Week 1: How to use tarot intuitively

What if you didn’t need months to learn tarot? What if you could show up on day one, and use the images on the cards to access the wisdom that your inner voice has been trying to give you for weeks, months or even years?

This method is a simple and yet profound way to dip into the part of your knowing that you didn’t know you knew. Zero previous experience is required, although even advanced tarot users will find joy in allowing this method to revitalize their current practice.

Week 2: Meeting the voices that interrupt our intuition & giving ourselves permission not to be perfect

When we commit to listening to our intuition, the ego turns to its favourite defense mechanisms: the inner critic, inherited expectations about “rational” decision making or the pressure to “get it right.” It beats us up for listening to our intuition or - if that doesn’t work - for not listening to it perfectly. Here we can turn to these voices with compassion and a willingness to hear what they have to say, without allowing them to take over the show.

Week 3: Orienting towards your North Star

Let’s throw in a little astrology, because why not? The North Node in your astrological birth chart is your soul’s growing edge and the place you’re headed, if you so choose. The South Node is your comfort zone, the place you default to. It’s a given. But the North Node is anything but; it’s your mission, should you choose to accept it.

The stretch vs. the crutch: when we’re choosing to grow in this direction we feel challenged but enlivened. It’s a stretch, but there is joy in the reaching. During week three we will discover our own North Node and then use intuitive tarot to orientate ourselves towards it. This is one session you’ll be glad to do in community, because trying this alone is so much harder. Side note: being perfect at this isn’t even an option.

Week 4: Carrying your compass into everyday life

How will you keep listening once the circle is over? How can a tarot practice complement the other ways that you ground, regulate and orient? In the final week, we’ll explore healthy and imperfect ways to make tarot our own, rather than growing codependent with our deck or trying to have a fully-polished practice.

Along the way we will explore the beautiful and inspirational Soul Tarot deck which is perfectly designed for this kind of journey.

Relax into a safe, loving, totally no-pressure container as we step in our wisest, most courageous selves

This is a space to:

  • Get clear on your intentions, your INNER VOICE and what wants to emerge for YOU.

  • Pay attention to what is working and what isn’t and have room to course-correct if necessary, without needing to explain yourself.

  • Feel comfortable enough to be messy and imperfect and to fall apart when you need to.

  • Receive permission to do it whatever way works for you.

  • Feel totally accepted for what you are. No judging, no fixing, no unsolicited advice. Just love.

  • Know that others see you, trust your process and will cheer you all the way, no matter what.

This is a space for diving deep, for being exactly who you are and for growing into the human that you are destined to become.

want to know more about THE TAROT DOULA APPROACH?

Who do you want calling the
shots in your life?

Your insecurities?

Your social media algorithm?

Your mother?

Don't you want to feel like you can turn to yourself and trust what you find?

How often do you trust yourself to parent, to make bold career moves or to say how you feel? And how often are you instead paralyzed by fear, guilt or self-doubt?

So much of the time we don't trust ourselves and - sometimes - it's for good reason. When we are stuck in unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaving that have been passed down from generation to generation, we actually can't trust ourselves.

We need a way to cut through the mental noise and the emotional overwhelm to access the true wisdom at our core.

Even when we do finally hit upon clarity, the challenges aren't over.

We know what we need to do but find ourselves stuck in perfectionism, shame, compare-and-despair or overwhelm.

We get lost in constant busyness without direction.

We sell ourselves out or put ourselves last.

We begin projects that we don't complete or we jump from one crisis to the next, taking care of everyone's needs except our own.

We don't know how to settle, how to stop or how to just be.

We feel lost.

When so much of our inability to follow-through is an inside job, we need a radical route back to ourselves. But it's hard - almost impossible - to do it alone.. We desperately need a tribe of people around us who will:

  • Model what it looks like to trust oneself, as they do it for themselves.

  • Support us when we are in doubt, without trying to fix it for us.

  • Never ask us to quote our sources or the so-called "experts."

  • Remind us that finding answers in our own hunches, our body or the Unseen doesn't make us crazy or irrational, it makes us wise beyond measure.

We all need others to listen, to hold space and trust our process enough to resist the temptation to jump in with fixing or opinions. We need people who can ask us the right questions, share from their own experience and stand for our greatness when we can't feel it. We need spaces that give us the courage to act on what we already know, so that we can steer ourselves lovingly and gently through uncertain times.

This kind of community is life-giving and life-changing. When we have enough support to look at our blind spots and embrace the chaos, we experience a coming back to our bodies, our values, our wisdom and ourselves. We are at once greater and more humble, clearer and more able to tolerate uncertainty, more focused on action and less attached to a specific result. In short, we have re-birthed ourselves.

From this reborn place things are simple and more able to be dealt with. Problems seem more manageable and actions more likely to be taken. We are less fearful, less blocked and less alone. We have more access to the confidence we lacked, not because we now "know it all" but because we are more grounded in the moment-to-moment unfolding of the process.

That's why I call myself a Tarot Doula. Whatever transition you are currently facing, I'm not here to be your guru or to birth this baby for you. I'm here to witness, support and cheer you on as you Rebirth Your SELF.

You come trusting the cards. You leave trusting yourself.

That's Tarot Doula magic.
